[In June last the New South Wales Government concluded a tentative contract with Griffiths, Australia, Ltd., a branch of the Norton Griffiths Company, London, to expend £3,000,000 on the construction of railways, including the remaining sections of the North Coast and Condobolin and Broken Hill lines. The company secures the £3,000,000 at current rates of interest, as required, and will provide a staff of engineers to supervise the work, receiving remuneration at the rate of 5 per cent, on the cost of the work.]
