BIBLE IN SCHOOLS AND PROHIBITION.

At a special meeting of the New Zealand Alliance Executive yesterday afternoon the following resolution was adopied :— "That the executive of the New Zealand Alliance has learned with much surprise and regret that its resolution repudiating the post-card, Bible in Schools and Prohibition, has been understood in any quarter as disclaiming the responsibility while tacitly approving of the thing itself. * The' intention of the executive was to dissociate the Alliance in every sense from the post-card' in question, and it strongly disapproved both of the matter of tne card and vof the manner in which- if appears to have been circulated. We would resent any* attempt to force members of the Alliance | as such to take either one side or the I other on the Bible-in-State-Schools quesi tion, and we deplore the base attack which professedly, in the interest of temperance retorm, has been made upon supporters of the Bible-in-State-Schools League."
