On her Initial trip in the Sydney-Auckland-Wellington service the Huddart-Parker Company's steamer Riverina is due here on Friday morning. The vessel is of 4768 groES tons, or over 1700 tons larger than the Wlmmera, which she has replaced in the service. She is similar in appearance to the Zealandia, but of less tonnage. She is under the command of Captain G. F. Bntwisle, who has had a lengthy experience of the New Zealand coast as master of the old Zealandia (now Paloona), then the Victoria, and later the Wimmera. She carries three classes of passengers, whiich is a new departure in this service. Some three years ago the Riveriha visited Wellington, then relieving the Ulimaroa in the Sydney-V7ellington-Melbonrne service, and lately she has been engaged in the trade between Sydney, Melbourne, and West Australian ports, being relieves in that service by the Zealandia. Prior to entering the present service, the Riverina was given an extensive overhaul, and alterations were made at Sydney to meet the requirements of the intercolonial trade. Built in 1905 at Sunderland, by Sir J. Laing and Sons, Ltd., for the fiuddart-Parker Co., the Riverina has four decks, or one deck more than the Victoria and the Wimmera. Accommodation for second saloon passengers is provided on the boat deck aft, the shelter deck, and main deck. There are also luxuriously-furnish-ed deck cabins provided for first and second saloon passengers, and the third-class forward. The three dining saloons have seating accommodation for 1 180 people, 90 people, and 60 people respectively. The steamer's engines are of 719 nominal horße-power, and she has developed a speed of 17 knots under favourable conditions. Captain Entwisle has associated with him the following officers :— Chief, Mr G. C. Dateiel ; second, Mr H. Cloke; third. Mr J. W. S. Biss; fourth, Mr % H, C. Campbell. Mr J. Morris is chief engineer, Mr B. C. Cumberland second, Mr G. Mlddleton third, Mr L. W. Kidd fourth, Mr A. D. McPherson fifth, and Mr V. J. Patrick sixth. Mr S. Patrick is purser. Mr C. S.
