. »< ■■ GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING. [by telegraph— special to the post.] PALMERSTON N., This Day. A general committee meeting of the A. and P. Association was held yesterday, Mr. F. S. M'Crae presiding. The Hon. W. H. Herries wrote stating that the request for » northern stock train in connection with the show was being considered. The Department of Agriculture intimated that £20 had been voted towards the cost of printing the report of the Dairy Conference. The Secretary of Customs notified that the Minister would place a sum on the Estimates to enable cups, presented by Messrs. P. A. M'Hardy and Chas. Carr, to he admitted free, and the matter of free admission of a presentation plate was being considered. Major Dunk moved that as horse parades in the past had not been well patronised they be discontinued. _ Last year's parade was a farce. This was seconded by Mr. Sutherland, and car- ! ried unanimously. i Forty new members were placed on | the roll of the association. There were | only three resignations* The election of four ordinary members of the committee resulted in Messrs. J. B. Johnston, Di Thomas, E. J. Wilde, and R. Wilde being returned. Various committees were appointed, including the following :— Finance com* mittee, Messrs. A. A. i Con way, W. F. Jacobs, S. R. Lancaster, P. A. M'Hardy, A. Dunk, R. M'Knight, T. R. Hodder. Ground committee, Major Dunk (chairman), Messrs. Akers, Balsillie, Batchelar, Gillies, Hodder, Lancaster, J. A. M'Crea, M'Hardy, Nash, vPratt, Sutherland, • M'Kenzie, and R.S. Abraham. Mr. Hodder moved : That this committee is of opinion that a tablet should be erected in or oii the Wheeler Memorial Building, with a suitable inscription inscribed thereon, setting forth in whose memory the building was erected, and that the Romney Marsh Sheepbreeders' and Hereford Sheepbreeders' Associations be asked to support the proposal, and to assist if possible in the cost of same. The proposal was carried.
