WELLINGTON RUGBY UNION

. The Wellington Rugby Union met test overling, Mr. E. O. Hales presiding. Other members present were ; Messrs. A. 0. Kifcto, W. Hornig, W. Hardham, G. Buck, and G. Howe. Application was made by the Hawkes Bay Union for 'so per cent, of the gate takings at the proposed ' WellingtonHawkes Bay , match in Wellington this season. Wellington were allowed, explained the letter, a similar concession when they visited Hawkea Bay last year. According to Mr. Hales, Hawkes Bay had offered to give Wellington SO per cent., with the object of inducing them to make the trip and show "big football" in the Northern province.
