PRESENTATION TO MR. GANNAWAY

m /Mr. E. C. Gannaway, late Assistant Postmaster at Wellington, who has retired from the Public Service after a thirty-eight years' continuous record in Wellington, was yesterday presented by Mr. A. P. Dryden, the Chief Postmaster, on " behalf of the staff, with a very handsome tea and coffee service and salver. Practically the whole of the staff (with the exception of those members whose duties prevented their attendance) Were present. Mr. Dryden expressed regret that the Department was losing Mr. Gannaway's services, and referred in terms of warm praise to the painstaking and conscientious manner in which he had always carried out his duties, and the great esteem in which he was held by all the employees in the Post Office. His place would be a difficult one to fill. They all hoped that Mt. Gannaway would be spared for many years to enjoy his well earned rest. The staff typistes (five in number) also presented Mr. Gannaway with a brief bag and a pipe.
