In connection with the strike among the members of the Amalgamated Workers' Association, employed by the Federal Government, a few of the men have returned to work rather than ri«k tile losing of their positions in the railway service. The carpenters returned, but objected to n-ork with the men who broke away from the local union. ' They Were then peremptorily dismissed. Tho Administrator of the Northern Territory (Dr. Gilruth) conmdets that there is iiow no strike as far as tho Government is concerned, and the vacancies in the service will be filled.
