SERIOUS ACCIDENT
About 9 o'clock this morning a serious accident occurred in Upper Dixonstreet. A young man named Percy Cal-' cinai, a resident of Rolleeton -street, and in the. employ of Wardell Bros., grocers, was driving one of the firm's carts from Wellington-terrace into Upper Dixonstreet, when one of the wheels of the cart struck the kerbing, and ,the cart overturned. Calcinai was thrown heavily on the road, and was probably struck by the cart. Some passers-by carried him to the footpath. A little, difficulty was experienced in getting a doctor. Eventually Dr. Gilmer's services were secured, and, after attending to - Calcinai's injuries, ordered his removal to the Hospital, where he now lies in a very serious condition, having sustained severe injuries to the head.
