Rosenthal, a Portsmouth hairdresser, has given evidence that Claire said he wanted the toroedo-book long enough to allow him to visit Germany and return. IWilhelm Claire, th© German who was arrested on a charg© of attempting by a bribe to secure a secret naval code, and who has been remanded under observation for a year, fell into a police trap, arranged with th© consent of the naval authorities. A chance was made to allow him to acquire temporary possession of a torpedo report-book, which was found in his possession when arrested.]
