BUILDING SOCIETY'S YEAR
_ The twenty-second annual report of the , directors and (the statement of accounts of the Metropolitan Permanent Building and Investment Society for tho year ended 15th February have been circulated. The profits for the year (including a balance of £238 Ss 4d brought forward from last yeaf) amount to £4936 Is, whicl^ hps been appropriated as follows :«-Dividelid at 7 per cent, f<iid amount credited B shares. £3938; added to reserve fund, £750 (brinaiha; that fund up to £9000) ; leaving £537 l'Bs lOd to bo carried forward. The loans on mortgage total £129,288, and the fixed deposits held by the company total £62,447. Messrs. W. M. Hannay and J. G. \V. Aitken, retiring directors, offer themselves for re-election. 1
