The annual .report and balance-sheet were adopted. The report mentioned the great increase in the cable service and the hecessity for making further provision on this- head. Several members spoke in higll^ terms of the Calibre of the service, and it was mentioned that recent visitors highly qualified to judge had expressed their admiratioh at the quality of the news service of the world they had found in 'the newspapers of this distant part of the Empire. It was also stated that the service of New Zealand news had been maintained at its usual standard. During tho year close on half a million words of original cable news had' been supplied to papers belonging to the associatioh. Messrs. Fenwick (Otago Daily Times) and Smith (Dunedin Star) Were re-elect-ed directors, and Mr. Shaw was reelected audi.ijor. Ah ihvitatiOM from" the New Plymouth Tourist Expansion League to hold the next meeting there was accepted.
