EASTER CARNIVAL
For the purpose of co-operating with the Easter Carnival Committee, representatives of the city bands met last evening in the. Mayor's room at the Town Hall. Those present included Messrs. H. Liardet and W. Whitford (Tramways), A. Baker (City), H. M'Comish (Fifth Regiment), J. Wilson, A. Johnston, and H. J. Connelly (Jupp's), A. BeVen and G. Smith (Waterside Workers), and A. Shaw (Pipe Band). It was resolved that a massed band performance should be held in Newtown Park on Easter .Sunday, those present being strongly of opinion that an up-to-date band rotunda* should be erected in the park before .the carnival takes place. _All members of athletic clubs are invited to a public meeting to be held in , the Town* Halli to* morrow night in connection with the carnival.
