FIRE ON A STEAMER
WHAKARUA'B CARGO DAMAGED. By Telegraph.— Press A«goctatlon.--C«pyrlghfc. LONDON, 24th February. A cable message has been received oy the Underwriters' Association to the effect that the steamer Whsß'arna. en route to Australia and New ; Zealand, has arrived at Capetown for a survey of her cargo, which' has. been considerably damaged by fire. (Received February 25, 8.5 a.m.) CAPETOWN, 24th February. The fire on tho Whakarua occurred on the 16th. ' The cargo is badly damaged. [The Whakarua, belonging toifceTyfler line, left London on 28th January, and i« duo here on 7th April.]
