The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher left to-day for Auckland. On his return, in about a fortnight, he will leave for Bluff, en route to Melbourne. The Hon. W. Fraser is at Invercargill. The Hon. W. H. Haszard, Commissioner of Crown Lands for Westland, and Chairman of the Forestry Commission, arrived in Wellington from the South yesterday. Craig, of the Wellington Fire Brigade, who has been appointed Captain of the Remuera (Auckland) Volunteer Fire Brigade/ was fareweHcd at a ''social" at the Central Brigade Station on Friday evening last. On behalf of the local brigade, Superintendent Taifc presented Mr. Craig with a portmanteau, and in doing so said that Mr. Craig took with him the good wishes of all the members of the Wellington Firs Brigade. Mr. Craig left for the North to-day to take up his new duties.
