North Island, , 4|d per 1b ; Canterbury, npt quoted. , , Lamb.— -The market is slightly weaker, with less demand. High prices are re stricting business in the market. Buyerfc are cautious. Canterbury, . 6|d per lb j other than Canterbury, 6jd. Beef.— There is a better demand. A moderate supply. New Zealand hinds, 3|d per lb; fores, 3£d. Butter.— The market Is firmer. Ther& has been a favourable change in the weather, which is cold. Continent are buying l ttnsalteti. Choicest New^ Zealand, ealted 116s per cwt, ung<ed 119s; Australian, 112s; Argentine, 110s; Danish, 131s; Siberian, llOsV <- Cheese.-— The market is firmer. A moderate demand. There - ate ■ complaints of the quality of New Zealand cheese this aeaton. The average price for the week for finest New Zealfthd cheese per cwt i« 60s 6d ; Canadian 64«, English Cheddar 745. Hemp.— The market is very quiet; nothing doing, and is weaker, With tendency- downward. Spot : New Zealandgood fair grade, per ton. £33; fair grade," £3l;' fair current' Manila, £33 10s.
