MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENT

ITALIAN MUSICIAN'S DEATH. An inquest was conducted by Dr. A. M'Arthur, Coroner, this afternoon, touching the death of Guiseppe Pisana, who died_ on Friday night as the result of injuries sustained in a motor-car accident. Sergeant Mullaney appaared for the police, Mr. J. J. M'Grath for Neish, the driver of the car; Mr. E. G. Jackson for the widow of deceased; and Mr. T. M. Wilford for Mrs. Nightingale, owner 'of tho car. Geofgo Stewart Neish, describing tho circumstances of tho accident, said that he was driving from Lambton-quay into Willis-street about 8 o'clock on Friday night, when his car skidded, and as ho was trying to get it straight again one of the lamps in • front struck a harp which deceased was carrying on his back. Deceased was knocked sideways. Witness stopped tho car in about its own length, and he and one of his passengers went to deceased's assistance. They picked up deceased, who was unconscious, and took him straight to the hospital. (Proceeding.)
