WELLINGTON CLUB. Seotional ties in the annual fink matches for the -Wellington Club's president s and vice-presidents' pfkeß were played off yesterday afternoon. In section A, A. primpbell beat Dall. Berry, who also tied in this section, drew a bye, and will play off with Campbell ibis afternoon. In, section C, G. Brown beat Ballantyne. Seotion winners will play off on Saturday at 2 p.m. Locrkie will meet either Berry of Campbell, and Brown will ' meet Still. Matters in connection with the flotation of the company to inaugurate a motor service across Kelburne have been progressing, and to-night a meeting is' being held at the Kelburne Church Schoolroom to give an opportunity for the provisional directors to report what has beefl accomplished and deal with several other details in connection with the proposal. To residents of Karori, Northland, Kelburne, and all patrons of the Kelburne cat* the project is of special interest. Messrs. A. Marryatt, 8. /R, Keesing, and G. S. Hill, a deputation from the New Zealand Olympic Council, waited on the executive of the New Zealand Sports Protection League to-day to ask assistance for the better representation of New Zealand at the next Olympic Games. Sir George, Clifford (chairman) and Messrs. J. B. Coates, C. P. Skerrett, and C. Tringham were present. Sir George Clifford gave the deputation a very cordial reply. The Hawkes Bay Fruitgrowers' Company have opened a branch depot at 119, Cuba-street, next Hotel Grand Central. They will get regular supplies of all kinds or fruits, including varieties of their well-known peaohes, direot from their various orchards in Hawkes Bay.
