The University Senate resumed "the -discussion on the proposal by the Pro- | fessqrial Conference with regard to the , abolition within the next five years of ' external ' examinations for degrees in arts. The proposal was rejected by 17 to 6, those in favour being Professors I Hunter, Hight, J. R. Brown, Rev. W. 'A. Evans, Mr. fiogben, and Sir Maurice O'Rorke.
