NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS TO-DAY'S PLAY. (BY tS!LEG»Al > a— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) HASTINGS, This Day. Splendid weather again prevailed for the New Zealand lawn tennis championships. Interest was well maintained and some fine play was witnessed. Additional results :— Ladies' , Doubles. -7 Second round : Misses Travel's and Gray beat Misses Hartgill and Baird, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 ; Mrs. Maddison and R, Wellwood beat Misses Braithwaite and D. Wellwood, 6-3, 6-3. Men's Singles.— Second round : Swanston beat Peacock, 5-6, 7-5, 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 ; E'isher beat Lanlpe, 6-2, 6-1, 7-5; OUMe* beat D. K. Duthie, 6-2, 6-1, 6-2. Ladies' Singles. — Second round : Miss Travera beat Miss Van Staveren, 6-2, 6-3 ; Miss Hartgill beat Miss Hill, 6-0, 6-0. INVERCARGILL TOURNAMENT INVERCARGILL, This Day. At the tennis tournament H. S. Hamilton (Dutiedin) won the Men's Champion Singles, defeating Crammond, 6-3, 6-0, 6*3, He secures Slazenger's cup outright. ' The Men's Handicap Singles (B grade) were won by Hill (Dunedin), who defeated Instone, 9-3.
