If a married couple want to part, N/orwegian law grant® a divorce without enquiring into the reaeon, but as security that the step has been well thought over, it provides that a year of separation must intervene between the application and the actual granting of the divorce. The husband and wife have first to, apply to a Magistrate. He sends them to the Conciliation Board, and if this body cannot reconcile them they are granted a separation order.
