Tudor), during a speech in tho House of Representatives, referring to patent medicines, said that one alleged consumptive cure had been prohibited. According to the British Medical Association, in one alleged cure, which sold at £2 10s for a month's treatment, the value of the ingredients was 2a«-l. In another, which sold at 5s a bottle, the ingredients cost l^d. Certain soothing powders, sold at 4s 6d a packet, cost the makers £d; others, which sold at 2s 9d, cost id.
