POSITION AT HUNTLY.
AUCKLAND, 6th November. The Huntly correspondent of .one of the Auckland papers telegraphs :■ — Messrs. Semple, Webb, and Marshall spoke at a large meeting of miners and their wives and sympathisers last night. Speaking on general matters, nothing was dealt with of particular local interest, but certain interests and monopolies, deemed inimical to the Federation, were very bitterly denounced. Messrs. Semple and Webb left for Auckland this morning. The organiser of the new union reports good progress. He is expecting to have 100 names in a day or two at the present rate of enrolment.
