MATTERS QUIET
EXPECTANCY AT tfAIHI WAITING A LEAD (BI TKLECJBAPH— SPtCtAL TO TH« POST,") . WAI.HI, This Day. Waihi is particularly quiet to-day, an air of expectancy being the only characteristic qf the c bikers, who loiter about in groups under verandahs, taking refuge from frequent and heavy rain storms. The majority await a lead from the Federation executive, who, presumably, will meet early to discuas the latest move on the part of the Waihi Company. Even if the miners here were . disposed to be active in administrative matters or strike tactics, it is uncertain wtoefahef it would act as ' an effective cheek on the aeal of the more ardent spirits.
