MOVEMENTS ON THE COAST. There were no movements of vessels at Greymouth again, to-day, but the bar wae reported to be improving rapidly. The port should be workable this evening. In. that case the JLapotirika will sail at 8 o'clock for Wellington direct, being due here late tomorrow night. Owing to the delay she has suffered she will come to this port direct. At Westport there hae been a big improvement, and there wae a* general exodus of boats this morning at 8 o'clock. The following Vessels got away for ports other than Wellington* :— Navua (Auckland), Poherua (Lyttelton),' Kini, Pttkaki, ntfd Canopiw. The Kortuta and Katoa —the former for Wellington— will sail at 9 o'clock to-night, and the Kowhai and Flora will leave at that hour in continuation of their respective Voyages to Greymouth. The Waiporl will leave to-morrow for Wellington. THE SIDNEY BOAT. Advice ha* been received by the Union Company stating that the Maunganui left Sydney at 10 o'clock on Saturday night for Wellington direct. She i* bringing 151 saloon and 138 steerage passengers. The Maunganui should arrive in Wellington about midday on Wednesday. MAHENO CONNECTS The Mahenot arrived at Auckland from Sydney direct at S o'clock lut night, being in time to connect with the Main Trunk train, She brought over an Australian mail, the southern portion, of which should reach Wellington'this afternoon, RUAHINE'B ARRIVAL. The New Zealand Shipping Company has been advised that the Ruahine, en route from London to Wellington, via Capetown and Hobart, states, by wir lees, that she will arrive at the latter port to-morrow. MeLeod will join the Mapourika on arrival here ad second officer, vice Sir Cordy, who will come ashore for order*. Mr. H. Claydem, late second officer of the Mararoa, is to join the Aorangi at Sydney in • similar capacity. Mr. V. A. C. Bishop, Jate third officer of the Mararoa, hag left that vessel, and has been relieved by Mr. W,. H, Millar, late of the Katoa. CARGO STEAMERS IN DEMAND.
