[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] SAD DROWNING FATALITY
THEEE CHILDREN LOSE THEIR LIVES. AUCKLANir22iid September. A sad accident occurred at Paeroa yesterday, the three children of Edward Shaw being drowned. It appears that four children— Mary Shaw/ aged 14. and Kenneth Shaw, aged 12, Jack Shaw, ! aged 7, and Frank ( Moresby, aged 14 — were out on the river in a small boat with the sail up, when the wind caught the sail, and overturned the boat. A Maori boy saw the accident, and told Mr. Shaw, who was quickly on the scene, and rescued Moresby, who was hanging on to the bottom of the boat. The other three childrpn went down, and so far^only one body, has been recovered. A large party, under a con- j stable, are at present engaged in dragging the river.
