BOYS' INSTITUTE
At the Boys' Institute yesterday afternoon, the Hon. C. M. Luke, M.L.C., addreeeed the boys, taking for his subject "Personal Responsibility." Baaing his remarks 6n the parable of the Good Samaritan, the d£ealcer referred to the many temptations which confronted pereons in early life. ¦ It xvas the duty of every man and boy to play tho chivalrous part, and help to raise the man or boy who had fallen. At tho conclusion the speaker appealed to the boys to use their time, talents, and political privileges ' in helping to make this world more and more an expression of the thought of Jesus Christ. During the evening occasion wat taken' to present Mr. F." C. Atkinson, one of tho honorary instructor, who haee been transferred to Christchurch, with a volume of Shakespeare'G complete works as an indication of the esteem in which he is held by the Institute boys. The speaker next Sunday evening will be tho Hon. James Allen, M.P. As Mr. Allen ifi Minister for Defence, tho Boys' ' Institute Cadet Corps will parade at the service.
