FIRE STATION FOR SEATOUN
- OPENED ON SATURDAY. There was a large gathering of residents, and visitors on Saturday afternoon when the Majnor of Miramar (Mr. H. N. M'Leod) opened the Miramar Volunteer Fire Brigade Station- at Seatoun. The Borough Brass Band played several selections during the afternoon. The Mayor, 'in formally opening > the station, congratulated the residents upon having a fine body of fire-fighters in their midst, men whose unselfish service called forth from them long patience m practice, expertness in work, promptitude m emergency, and bravery in the face of danger. (Applause.) The fire-bell jvas fang by a lady resident representing the Seatoun portion of the district. A competition between teams of members ,of the brigade followed. The Miramar team won the fourmen event, and Messrs. Bnll (Miramar), Tracey (Seatoun), and Fuller (Seatoun) were first, second, and third respectively for the one-man event, tho winner securing a gold medal. Superintendent Tait, of the City Fire Brigade, and exForeman Woolcott judged the contests'.' Refreshments were dispensed at the Seatoun Tea-rooms after tho ceremony.
