GOVERNMENT HOUSE, SYDNEY
"THE KING'S CROWN IN THE MELTING-POT." CITIZENs" r ~PROTEST. By Telegnph.— PreM AMOclatkm.— Copyright. SYDNEY, 20th September. Li the Legislative Assembly to-day Mr. J. P, Cochran, Labour member for Darling Harbour, speaking on the ousting of Lord Denman from Government House, said the Governor-General was able to take care of himself. It did not concern him (Mr. Cochran) where Lord Denman went, because the time was fast approaching when the King's Crown might be in the melting-pot and the monpy he received used to relieve poverty iti England. Liberal members should sliow greater interest in the poorer classes than in titled and exalted personages. A big citizens' meeting in the Town Hall reaffirmed the resolutions protesting against the Government's action concerning Government House. It was decided to pfesent a petition to Parliament against the eviction of Lord Denman.
