COURT CASES
Decision was reserved yesterday in the case in which the Nutricia Milk Company was charged with having sold milk which had been adulterated by water. Mr. M. Myers, who appeared for the company, maintained that the company had taken all reasonable precautions to see that it conformed with the law. Mr. Ostler, who prosecuted for the Health Department, argued that the company had not. Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M., heard the case. William Joseph Ferkins, for failing to pay a tram fare, was fined 10s, with costs (£3 16s). For having attempted to commit suicide, an eleven-year-old boy appeared before the Juvenile Court and was severely admonished by the Magistrate for his rash act.
