HATAITAI BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL REPORT. The report to be presented at the Annual meeting of the Hataitai Bowling Club states that the 1911-12 season, apart from the wretched gather that obtained generally, waft on the whole a satisfactory one. The club, having affiliated with the N.8.A., competed in the various tournament*, and matches under the control of that body. The Junior Stars were eecured for the club by Messrs. Williams, Nicol, Cheeeman, and Martin, and as the centre has discontinued this contest the trophy will be retained by the club for club competitions. Messrs. Ballinger and M'Whannell had the honour of wearing tho Diamond Buckles for a term. Messrs. A, Claridge and G. Smith also won the pairs trophy at the Palmerslon Easter competition. At the end of the year there were 75 members on the roll. Briefly pttt, the club made a small margin of profit during its first year, and a corresponding loss last year. Of the two years' transactions, the net result has been a loss of £2 In addition to the president, secretary, and treasurer, Messrs.M'Goldrick and Pryor are retiring from the directorship, and the following gentlemen have been nominated for election for the ensuing year :—President, Mr. P. Galviii ; -secretary, Mr. J. L. Arcus ; treasurer, Mr. J. W. Kinniburgh; directora, Messis. 0. Penney, F. Laurenson, J. Matthews. H. D. Edwards, H. Ballinger, W. Pilkington, G. H. Julius. The following notices of motion have been given by Mr, Kinniburgh :— "That bylaw No. 7 be amended to provide a more satisfactory method of drawing Saturday players." That bylaw No. 8 be added to 'as follows : — (a) "Any financial ordinary member of a club affiliated with the N.8.A. , may, subject to approval of directors, be admitted as an honorary member for the season upon payment of one guinea." (b) "In the event of a member leaving the district for over one full season he shall be allowed to remain as a non-playing member upon payment of half a guinea for the season.''
