AGED AND INFIRM PERSONS BILL , The Aged nnd Infirm Persons Protoc' tioh Bill, whioh wa* introduced in tho Legislative Council by the Hon. H. U. Bellj \va« reported from tho Statutes Revision Commit too yesterday. Tho amendments mndo by the committee'include a great number of machinery alterations, directed tit improvement of the drafting of the measure. The maih amendments made by, Iho,, committee are embodied in a few new clauses'. New claueo 10a empower*' tho Court lo authorise the continuance of a provision made in tho interest* of a protected prreon for the person ot* pc)'sorm dependent on him. Tho munaßiH' of a "protected" estate is authorised to apply any balance of moneys in puch manner as the Court directß. .Full power is given to the Couit to niako any direction it thinks fit. Powers contingont on these provisions aro embodied in new clause 22a. An important new clause (16) ha* boon included by the committee- itl tho Bill. It provides that the manager of every protected eetnto shall -file m tha Court a etatement, verified by the affidavit of the manager, showing the pro« pcrty comprised in such protected cslatc, and the condition thereof,'' and the manner in which euch property has becn'duftlt with. In. any case in which the manager i» not the Public Trustee the manager shal,' after filing a Moment, delict to tho Public Trustee a duplicate of it, and shall uehd to the Public' Trustee finch accounts and vouchers as the Public Trustee may require. I If any manager fails to file a «We. ment or to deliver to the Public Trustee a duplicate he is liable to a penalty not. exceeding £50. The Public Trustee is required to have fitatcments examined and reported upon, either by himself or by any person he may appoint in that behalf, And shall file such report in tho Court.
