■ m USERS PURCHASE A MINE. The Mercantile Gazette this week reports the registration of the United Coal Company. Ltd.. Auckland. It would seem that this is a Hew move on the part of large U6ers of coal to jointly own their own mi^ie, ahd so be independent or partly co of other sources of supply. Tho capital of the company is £7000 in *;i shares, and tho company has been registered as a private company. The sitbecribers are as follow :— Shares. Waihi Gold Mine ... M , ... 3250 Auckland Electric Trams ... 260 Waiht-Paeroa, Gold Extension Co. 1000 Waihi Grand Junction Mining Co. 2500' 7000 Th® objecte of the company arc: "To purchase and acquire from tho Union Collieriee, Ltd.. or from . ono Charles Tuck, of Auckland,, accountant, seams of coal in the Parish of Maramarua. and to carry on the business of miners, etc." Maramarua te a small farming centre on the road to Miranda, in the Waikato, 17 miles from Pokeno station, on tho Main Trunk line.
