MANAWATU A. AND P. SHOW DONATIONS OF TROPHIES.

[BX TILECIRAPH— SPECIAL TO IHX POST.] PALMERSTON N., This Day. A handsome list of valuable trophies was announced at yesterday's committee meeting of, the A. and P. Association. J. S. Watchorn and Co. gave a 20-guinea cup for allotment to the best grade dairy cow in the butter-fat competition. A gold watch for competition m dairy classes was received from Messrs. Millar and Giorgi ; Messrs. Levin and Co. donate the Lincoln shield, and Messrs. E. W. Mills and Co., Ltd., wrote, * promising to give a. "scientific" forge for tne shoeing competition. Mr. Johnston reported that Mrs. William Coombs had promised to present, as from her son at the Waitaki High School, a 20-guinea cup for champion draught horse. Other offers of prizes were reported, as follow :— Through the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., M'Dougall Cup, value £15 15s, for champion Romney ram; from Messrs. O'Connor and Tydoman, £5 5s cup, for best Irish terrier; from Mr. N. D. ■Stubbs, £5 5s cup, for best wirehaired fox terrier. Votes of. thanks were passed to all the above donors. Mr. J. Balsillie reported that he and Mr. J. A. Batchelor, now in England, acting on behalf of the association, had purchased a "pushball," which should arrive in time for the spring show.
