Riddell, S.M.,- at the I Magistrate's Court this morning, Mary Donaldson was fined £3_ for fche fourth breach of her prohibition order, and William Wallace suffered tha same penalty for a like ofi'enco. .Ernest Hedges, for insobrioty, was Cued £l, in default three days' imprisonment For stowing away on the s.s. Pateena between Picton arid Wellington, Charles Arthur Tabrum *d 8 fined 11s, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment ■ Joseph Raitt, for using obscene languugß. was fined £3. in default to undergo two weeks' detention. Harry Bleasel, who stole a rolled gold watch and chain, valued at £5, from David Barclay, was fined 40s, in default one week's imprisonment Bleasel pawned the articles. Jessie Bnrtou iv&s granted a separation and guardianship oidor agajnst her husband, Henry Lewi6 Button. Philhp Petoi Franois Albrecht pleaded guilty to cruelly ill-treating a horse by working it whilst wa» suffering from girth galls. Nicolas Fernandoe, owner of the horse, pleaded not guilty to tho same offence, (fe stated that he had wrapped a piece of flaoel Jound the girth to protect thft gall from the loathor. Evidence was given by Constable Nordou to th 3 effect that he saw Albrecht riding the horso in Lambton-quuy, and that he told him to take it back to the stable. When fche horßu was taken baok it was otdered out again. His Worship imposed a fine of 5s on Albreoht and 40« on Fernandos, in default seven days' imprisonment Charles Hinds, for whom Mr P. W. Jaoksua .appeared, was fined 40s, with Comt costs (31s), for asin.^ < Ucuie 'tuigtugb in a bar-room, in default seven d»v»' imprisonment. At the Mount Cook Polioa Court this morning, before Mr. Little, J.P., John Prioe for drunkenness, was fined £3, in default , a month's imprisonment. Two I first offenders, who did not appear, were fined 10s or foity-eight hours' detention, and one first offender who did appear was ordered to pay 5s Or go to prison for fort* -flight hours.
