ONE IN THE CROWD.
The boys of the Amok'ura were entertained on Friday last by tho St. Anne's Drum and Fife Band (not St. Anne's Cadets, as stated in The Post on Saturday). The gathering; included Commander Hooper, R.N.R., of, the Amokura, Mr. Barnsdale, R.N.R. (chief officer), two instructors, and forty Amokura boys, and Captain R. E. J. Martin and. non-commissioned officers representing St. Anne's Cadets. Yen. Archdeacon Devoy welcomed the guest*. An interesting item, "Ju-jitsu v. Boxing," was given by Messrs. Tracy and Heavey, St. Anne's boys. In the Taranaki Herald oi Saturday last appeared the following paragraph, republi6hed from the same paper of fifty yeare ago— 9th August, 1862 .-—"The Fox Ministry is defeated, and it is r robable that 'Mr. Domett will succeed in forming a Ministry. The division was as follows— Ayes (23) : F. D. Bell, A. de B. Brandon, C. R. Carter, W. H. Eyes, I. E. Foatherston, E. Fitzgerald, W. Fitzherbert, G. Graham, R. Graham, H. F. Harrison, T. Henderson, W. Fox. J. Munro, G. M. O'Rorke, A. Reimll, W. B. Rhodes, A. Saundewt, C. Taylor, W. W. Taylor, John Williamson, Reader Wood, C. Ward, H. Carlton. Noes (23) : H. A. Atkinson, W. Butler, W. Colenso, H. E. Curtis, T. Dick, T. B. Gillies, F. Jollie, W. Alason, W. S. Moorhouse, W. R. D. Mantell, M. G. Nixon, T. O'Neill, A. J. Richmond, J. C. Richmond, T. RusseTl, E. W. Stafford, J. C. Wilson, James Williamson, F. A. Weld, W. Wells, I. N. Watt, — Richardson, A. Domett. The Speaker gave his casting vote with the Noes." It will be noticed that one member who took part in the division is still a member of the New Zealand Parliament— Sir G. M. O'Rorke, who is now in the Upper House.
