ALLOTMENT OF PORTFOLIOS

There still remains one Minister to b» appointed, but for the present the full allotment of portfolios was, with the exception of Industries and Commerce, completed late last night. It may be added that the Prime Minister receives a salary of £1600 a year ; the Minister of Railways, £1300 a year.; the member of the Executive representing the Native race draws a salary of £400, and other Ministers each £1000 a year. All Ministers who do not Occupy Ministerial residences arc entitled to a house allowance of £200 a year.
