ALLOTMENT OF PORTFOLIOS

There still remains one Minister to b» appointed, but for the present the full allotment of portfolios was, with the exception of Industries and Commerce, completed late last night. It is as follows :■ — The Hon. W. F. The Hon. W. H. Herries : Minister for Railways, Native Minister, and Minister in charge of Racing Permits. The Hon. W. Fraaerj Minister for Public Works, Roads, and Bridte©*, ■ Minister of Mines, Minister for Industries and Commerce, and Minister in Chai'ge of Public Buildings and Domain*. The Hon. A. L. Hercunan: AttorneyGeneral, Minister for Justice, Minister for Stamp Duties, Minister in Charge of Police, Prisons, and Crown Law (including Drafting), and Public Trust Departments. The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher: Minister for Customs, Minister for Marine, Minister in Charge of Inspection, of Machinery, Advertising, Government , Printing and Stationery, Legislative, State Five Insurance, Government Life and AccU dent Insurance, Electoral, National Provident Fund and Old Age Pensions Department. Dr. Pomare: Member of the Executive Council, representing the Native Race, and in Charge of Maori Councils, Cook and other Islands Administration, and Tourist and Health, Resorts (including Rotorua Sanatorium and Hospital). ■ , Mr. Herries was swom-m at 1 o clock to-day, and afterwards Ministers lunched with His Excellency the Governor. It may be added that the Prime Minister receives a salary of £1600 a year ; the Minister of Railways, £1300 a year.; the member of the Executive representing the Native race draws a salary of £400, and other Ministers each £1000 a year. All Ministers who do not Occupy Ministerial residences arc entitled to a house allowance of £200 a year.
