•DELIBERATIONS 'CONCLUDED. The order paper of the Diocesan Synod v?as completed • yesterday, the members rising Just prior to XI- p.m. The concluding business was ■as follows :—: — A bill to ameud act IV.. moved by Aichdeacon Harper, was' reproted and passed after amendment, A lengthy discussion- took place on ■ a bill amending the pension fund to provide a sum of £5 lor each, year of office until the applicant has reached the ag» of 65 years, or until a maximum of £200 is reached. On a division the second reading was lost. - . ■ Resolutions .were adopted as under :—: — (1) That the thanks of .the Synpd be accorded, to Mrs. 11. S. Hadfield and Mrs. J. W. Marshall for their .generous benefaction of £1500 as a special' trust for a'Biehop Hadfield Scholarship at Bishop Hadfteld Memorial College. (2) That the trustees of Hadfield -College consider the advisability of charging, a remunerative - rate. (3) ' That 'the 'matter of providing a fund for church-building be approved by the Synod, the following committee being set up in "the matter : — The Bishop, Archdeacon, Harper, Rev. 12. I. Sola, Messrs. Henderson, Shirtclifte, Wilberfoss, Salmon, Flux, and Button. (4) That' the ministers bo supported in their endeavour to rai6e a loan by tho issue of debentures for the purpose of enlarging the Diocesan Girls' School at Marton, and. of raising capital necessary for acquiring the property. - The usual votes of thanks concluded the gathering.
