ANGLICAN SYNOD YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS.

The Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprott) presided at the afternoon session of the Wellington Diocesan Synod -yesterday. Mr. L. 0. H. Tripp was appointed a trustee of the Wellington Diocesan Pension Trust Board in place of the late Mi 1 . W. H. Quick. , It was moved by the Rev. R. Herman— "That this Synod desires to express Her deep appreciation of tJbe good work don* during the past year by the members of the Church of England Men's Society in connection with. . the Territorial camps." The mover remarked that reports as to the behaviour of the Territorials in camp had been on the whole satisfactory, and he was of the opinion that this was due to a great extent to the endeavours of the representativee of the Christian, societies in the camps. The motion, which was seconded by Captain J. T. Hall, waa carried. On the motion of the Rev. A. S. Innee Jones, it was decided to recommend th* Diocesan Board of Trustees to ask tije General jSynod to grant permission to sell the vicarage ai Feilding, together with the acre on which it stands, the proceeds of the sale to be expended in the erection of a new vicarage on a rite ! to be approved. The diocesan trustees were authorised to apply to the Genera^ Synod for permksion to sell sections 354 and 375, "VogeHowu. It wae also decided to insure all buildings held by the diocesan trustees. It was stated that the- insurances on the majority of the churches in the diocese were in a very bad state, the policies having been taken out in ways under which they were non-enforce-able.
