LONDON MARKETS. Dalgety and Co.", Ltd., have been advised ny cable from their London house on tho 28th Juno, as follows:— "BasiLs, Hidoß, and Leather — The market is unchanged. Bradford tops quotations for the month ending 28th June, are aa follows:—36' b, 13id; 40's, 13id; 44'e, 14d; 46's. 14W; 50'e, 172 d; 56's, 20id; 58's, 22W; 60'b, common, 265; 60s. super, 251 d; 64'b, 26id; 70's, 27id. On comparing- these with tho quotations for the month ending '28th May, there is an advance noticeable on nearly all qualities.
The assessors who will 6it to.-morrow with the Conciliation Commissioner (Mr. P. Hally) to endeavour to secure a settlement of tho butchers' dispute, will be : For the owners, Messrs. Win. Wolland, Janies Rod, and A. Cheeseman; for the men, J. W. Dyer, J. Lebherz, and Albert H. Cooper. The council will sit at 10.30 to-morrow morning. Subsequent to this hearing Mr.- Halley leaves for Mastertbn and' Napier, in connection with, the Timbers Workers' dispute. A Christchurch fruit-grower complains of the excessive ,„ margin between the prices he gets for his fruit at auction and what he finds the retailers ' are charging for it. During April, May, and June all that he realised for 401b cases of dessert apples was 5s 2d to 3s 6d per case ; 201b cases of dessert pears, Is 2d to 2s lOd ; and. on one occasion he only received for three 401b cases oi pears 2s Sd for the lot. Then there was 10 per cent, commission and 4d for cost of each case to 'come off the amount that .was ;paid at auction for .the fruit. At the time his pears were only netting him about Id per lb the same kind was being retailed at 4d per lb; • The Wellington Tweed Company, Ghuz-noe-streer, notifies that it has a line of ladies' Fox sergn frocks and costumes at bargain prices."
