MEETINGS IN AUCkLAND. FIGHTING FOR A PRINCIPLE. AUCKLAND, Thie Day. I A meeting of Waihi miners in the Opera House on Sunday was addressed _6y Messrs. Parry and, M'Lennan. A " resolution was passed, denying that they had left Waihi because they were opposed to the strike, and pledging themselves to do all in their power to ensure victory at Waihi and Beefton,. Theie are about ninety ex- Waihi miners employed in Auckland. Meesrw. Parry and M'Lennan addressed a large meeting of sympathisers with the strike in the t Opera House last night. Mr. M'Lennan said he estimated ..that nine or ten hundred men had already left Waihi out of a population of six thousand. A resolution was passed, expressing a belief in the justice of the cause for which the miners were fighting at Reefton and Waihi, the principles of bona fide unionism, which were at stake, and pledging those present to give every assistance to ensure a speedy, victory.
