ENGLISH NAVAL VOLUNTEERS
For the first time, naval volunteers as a body are 'to take part in tho July manoeuvres. The interesting announcement was made by Prince Louis of Battenberg at a. dinner of the Bristol Division o.f the Royal Nautical School. Prince Louie, who will command a fleet in the manoeuvres, responded for ■ the guests, the toast having been proposed by Commander Ward, who had served under him as a midshipman. "In the view of the Admiralty," eaid Prince I/Ouis, "tho greatest importance i© attached to tho naval volunteers, who aro playing a very useful 'part in tho fleet. We are going to mobilise the Fleet on 20th July for a month, and are going to have manoeuvres on a, very large scale. We have issued invitations to all the volunteers divisions, so that as many men as possible may take part." He looked forward to the Bristol volunteers sharing in that work.
