BOWLING

NEWTOWN CLUB. Last evening the Newtown Bowling Club held its annual meeting, Mr. R. J. Barnes in the chair. The report and balance-sheet, already published, were adopted. The following officers were elected :— President, Mr. G. Scott ; vice-president, Mr. J. Gallic; directors, Meser«.. T.H. Powell, C. Pankhurst, J. Sexton; J. Trevor, and J. Castle; hon. secretary; Mr. S. H. Underwood j hon. treasurer, Mr. J. W Salmon; hon. auditors, Messrs. M'Lay and E. W. Watson; delegate to tho Northern Bowling Association, ' Mr. S. H. Underwood; delegates to Wellington Bowling Centre, Messrs. Scott aud Powell. Trophies won during tho season were presented. The appoi: Imont of coaches for instructing new bowlers was recommended. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers, special reference - being made to the untieing services of Mr. R. J. J3arnes (retiring secretary). KELBURNE AND HATAITAI. The Kelburne Bowling Olub entor tamed members of the Hataitai Bowling Club last night at billiards, euchre, and bridge. Mr. Meadowcroft lent his handsome billiard-room for the function, which proved a very enjoyable one. Kelburne won easily at billiards and bridge, but Hataitai were the winners at euchre.
