By Telegnph.—l't'es* Association.— Copyright SYDNEY, 24th June. _ The Australasian Lawn Tennis Association ha« been notified by the English Association that the latter i« agreeable to Melbourne as the venue for the challenge round of the Davis Cup contest. Tho English authorities, however, desire that the matches be played in December instead of November. Tho French and American Associations have already agreed to Melbourne as the venuo, but England's request for an alteration of date is likely to hamper tho management in making the ne» cessary arrangements.
