AN ABBE DISAPPEARS

The Abbe Pitou, who wa« missing from Angers for three days, called on tho police of .Lyons and asserted that he had been seized by a robber and carried off in a motor. After his disappearance Abbe Pitou's clothes were found on the bank of a stream, labelled "Death to a priest! Death to a ' robber of two thousand pounds of church moneys 1" Pitou confessed to the police that the story was an invention, and that he had misapprcpiiated the money.
