BISHOP OF TRURO. By Teiegvapn.— Press Association.— Copyright. (Received May 7, 10.10 a.m.) ■ . This Day. The Bishop of Truro ie dead. The Right Ptev. Charles William Stubbe, Bishop of Tniro, was born at Liverpool in September, 1845, and was the only son' of Charles Stubbs, of that city. _ He- was educated at the Royal Institution School, Liverpool, and afterwards, entered Sydney Sussex College, Cambridge. He took his B.A. degree, with mathematical honours, in 1868, and hia M.A. degree in 1876, and in 1904 became Hon. Fellow of Sidney Sussex College. Afterwards he became Vicar of Granboro', Bucks, 1871-84; Vicar of Stokenham, South Devon, 1884-88; Vicar of Wavertr«e, Liverpool, 1888-94. Subsequently he became Bishop of Ely, select preacher at, in ■succession, Cambridge, Oxford, and Harvard, U.S.A. Bishop Truro was also the author of many literary works and books of verse, including "Historical Memorials of Ely Cathedral," "Charles Kingsley and the Christian Social Movement," "Cambridge and its Story," "Christ and Economics," "The Social Teachings of the Lord's Prayer," "Christ of English Poetry," "Cornish Bells, Carols, and Verses," "Origin and Growth^ of Sentiments of International Morality," and many others. He married Harriett, third daughter of William Turner, of Liverpool.
