XO THE EDITOa. Sir,— l often wonder if our Chamber of Commerco acts in tho interests of tht> masses or tho interests of a aeloct few. I understand that tho majority of its members aro importers and not manufacturers; that alone may_ havo bomelhing to do with their objection to the To Aro railway station. There aro some reasons why this station should bo extended. In the first place it would bo a central station, especially as Kilbirnie, Newtown, Lyatl Bay, and other places aro growing. As to manufacturing sites To Aro Flat holds a long way tho best advantage, both for warehouse and factory sites. I hope tho Government and city members will give this subject somo consideration boforo coming to anything definite, and let tho question bo asked, where is the centre of Wellington?—l am, etc., ARTHUR BATCHELOR. 2nd May.
