To-day's sitting of the Magistrates Court was presided over by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M. Rose Fraeer, charged with theft of a metal watch valued at 265, was remanded uirtil Monday. Bail was fixed in th& sum of £10. In connection with this case, Fredk. Yansen was charged with having received tho stolen article. He pleaded not guilty, and was remanded until tomorrow. LuoyWeston and Annio Smith, for importuning and loitering, were each sentenced to one month's imprisonment. They refused to enter tho Salvation Army Home. Wm. Mack and Annie Maude Sales were fined 10s , for drunkenness, and a penalty of 20s was imposed on Geo, Harris for a similar offence. < Fredk. Watte, for fighting on the (juoen's Wharf last evening, was penalised in the sum of £2. A deserter from H.M.S. Encounter, Geo. Thomas, was remanded. He was ordered to remain in custody until the naval authorities are communicated with.
