FIRST MEETING ENDS FRUITLESSLY. By Telejraph.— Press Association.— Copyriibt. LONDON, 23rd April. Lord St. Aldwyn presided over th« first meeting of the South Wales Coal Board. No agreement was reached on a single point. The men claimed the wages set out in the original schedule (7« l£d to 7s 6d per day), while the owners proposed rates averaging 3s per day or less. The men contend that the rates should be based on the average wages earned.
