AN APPEAL. [bi telegraph— press association.] CHRISTCHURCH, 23rd April. .A special meeting of the New Zealand Trotting Association was bold this afternoon. The business of the meeting wa* t the consideration of a letter from M. I Edwards, .who/ gave notice of appeal against hie disqualifica-tion, together with his horse Dillon Bell, until 31st December next by the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club, in connection with pc running of the High Class Handicap it the clubs-recent meeting. The president said that the question fraa one of fact, and no appeal could lie. The only point to bo considered was whether the club had followed the proper procedure, and it eeemed to him tnat they had. The case might, however j I .have ' been put more fully, and •ha thought the statemerito/of the stewards should have been^et put. The president having' ruled that the appeal could not be received, the club's 'ction was endorsed. \ An application from M. Edwards for permission to be present on the racejouree until 31et May wae refused.
