SCHOOL CONTROL
ELECTION OF' COMMITTEES. • Northland.— The annual meeting for the election, of the Northland School Committee resulted in the return of the following: Messrs. Gapes (chairman), Eton (secretary), Donaldson,' Burkett, Thomson, Kussell, and Stewart. The report showed the school to be in a very prosperous condition, .the attendance being exceptionally good and the roll number having been considerably increased. Electric light had been installed. The tennis fund now stood at £16. The incoming committee was recommended to continue the tree-plant-ing operations that had been so successfully carried oat during the year under review. After the usual -\ote of thanks to the outgoing committee, the following motion was unanimously passed by a large and representative meeting of householders: "That a hearty vote of thanks be accorded Mr. Polson_ and his staff for the work of the past year, which is a great credit to the school and to the teachers."
